Topographical Surveys

Providing our clients with an accurate and detailed representation of their site layout including all physical hard and soft features above the ground. This can include, but is not limited to, roads, street furniture, buildings, tree locations and boundary demarcations such as fences and walls.
Our surveyors carry out a variety of topographical surveys across a broad range of project sectors. For us, no survey is too big or too small. We have experience of large-scale land surveys for major infrastructure projects, housebuilding developments and have even completed a project where we surveyed half of an existing UK town to support a local council planning application. We can also provide survey data for smaller projects such as garden adaptations and extensions.

We use the latest equipment and technology to deliver a survey which meets your specific project requirements. Our topographical teams can carry out drone surveys, delivering numerous advantages over traditional methods. Data from our topographical surveys can also be used to aid flood risk assessments and understand potential drainage issues.

All our topographical surveys are issued in 2D and 3D formats as standard with our client feedback highlighting that the level of detail we provide goes above and beyond expectation. Topographical surveys shouldn’t just be considered as stand-alone projects. They are often the foundation for underground and utility surveys, as well as being used in conjunction with the start of the construction phase of the project or with measured building surveys.

Why choose
house of surveys?

An advanced and flexible solution for all your scanning needs
The popular tool of laser scanning is now widely used in the survey industry for rapid data capture of various types of infrastructure. These include buildings, motorways, railways, construction sites, façades and many more.

The House of Surveys team is here to make the process as easy as possible for you, so we can produce data in formats to suit various software products capable of manipulating point cloud data, or can even create CAD drawings or models to suit your requirements.

The benefits of Laser Scanning:
-
It’s ideal when access is of a limited duration e.g. railway track possession or crime scene.
-
Laser scanning can be used where features can be seen but not physically accessed, so a cliff face, retained façade or ceiling details.
-
It can be used where complex detail is required, so in historic buildings featuring ornate moulding or structures with complex steel detail.
-
It’s ideal in BIM projects where 3D models are required as a deliverable.
-
Where night work only is allowed, laser scanning can be used in the dark.
-
Comprehensive data collection allows desktop studies using the point cloud information and can improve decision making without return site visits.
